About Ashley

Ashley’s passion is creating classes, workshops, and experiences for people to deepen their connection with themselves through Yoga. She offers live music and Yoga events with talented musicians in Austin, TX. Ashley has a variety of certifications such as Pilates, Prenatal yoga, Hatha flow, Yin yoga and specializes in the foot. She has a genuine curiosity for functional movement and how it relates to health and considers herself a lifetime student of learning about the mind-body connection.

Ashley’s Story

Her first career began in 2006 as a Post rehabilitative Pilates instructor. She later gravitated towards Yoga as recommended by her acupuncturist to help calm her nervous system. She remembers the vulnerability of her first Yoga class and felt like an awkward baby giraffe as she attempted the poses. Afterwards loved it for the calming effects. Yoga has cultivated openness in her eyes, heart, voice and mind and brings her back to her authentic self.

Mission

Ashley’s mission is to facilitate opportunities to calm the mind and body in each class. She is also passionate about creating unique experiences for individuals to be in their bodies. She believes we are most grounded when we connect to ourselves, community and nature. She also believes the world would be a better place if we all had a more regulated nervous system.

 

Teaching Style

Ashley teaches intuitively and from a functional movement perspective that integrates practical yoga application for daily life. She is honored to hold a safe space for the student to experience being in their body. She is passionate about grounding the nervous system and uses a variety of Yoga to balance the fast paced culture we live in.  With her Pilates background there are elements of core work, postural alignment and functional movements. If you are looking to work hard or to let go and soften Ashley has a Yoga for that!
